Summer Registration starts today
Happy New Year!!!
I hope everyone had a great holiday break. Now that we are officially back on the ice here at the WHCL we also move into our registration cycle for the Summer 2014 season.
This season will mark another exciting change to the WHCL. Last season we were able to secure our partnership with the ASHL to offer our teams a spot in the national championships. To date there have been 8 teams invited to these games, with another 10 playing for this opportunity in March. Starting in the Summer 14 season each team that wins their division will not only be offered a spot, but the WHCL will now take care of the registration fee as well.
Last season we had 64 teams play across 8 divisions, 63 of these teams have again been invited back. The lone team out has been asked not to return to the league due to their multiple forfeits for not enough players.

League fees
- Summer Fees for returning summer team that also played winter 2013-14 will be as follows
- $5100 + GST for the season ($5355 or $335 based on a 16 player roster)
- $500 deposit
- $2427.50 due February 21st
- $2427.50 due April 25th
- Summer Fees for teams that played winter or summer but not both will be as follows
- $5400 + GST for the season ($5670 or $355 based on a 16 player roster)
- $500 deposit
- $2585 due February 21st
- $2585 due April 25th
- $5500 + GST for the season ($5775 or $361 based on a 16 player roster)
- $1000 deposit
- $2387.50 due February 21st
- $2387.50 due April 25th
- Summer Fees for brand new teams will be as follows
What you get
- 14 games plus 1 guaranteed playoff
- Insurance coverage for all players on your team
- Round Robin playoff format in 2nd round
- No Friday or Saturday games
- No Sunday games on Long Weekends
- All-Star game for 32 players (as voted by the officials) date Friday July 18th.
- NEW FOR 2014 – All teams that win their division championship will receive a paid entry into the ASHL Regional Championships (Tournament entry fee is covered by the WHCL, all other costs must be paid by the team).
Important Dates
- January 6th – Start Accepting deposits from Returning Summer 2013 teams
- January 17th – All returning teams deposits must be in prior to 4:00 PM (if a deposit is not in your spot becomes available to a new team)
- January 20th – 9:00 AM Deposits for brand new teams will be accepted. ($1000 deposit must be made in full to guarantee a spot)
- February 21st – First payment must be made prior to 4:00 PM (if a payment is not in your spot becomes available to a team on the wait list)
- April 25th – Final payment for the Summer season is due (Any team failing to play will forfeit any games until their payment has been made in full, and their team spot may be handed over to a team on the wait list)
- May 4th – Puck drops on the Summer 2014 season
- July 18th – Molson/Coors All-Star
- August 30/31st – Division finals will be played
