Practice Makes Perfect

We’ve all heard the saying “Practice makes Perfect”, but most of us don’t have the opportunity to get out and practice our skills other than once a week in our league games. Sure, we can get out to a drop in shinny once and a while, but, then again we’re thrown into game situations and don’t get the opportunity to work on the basic skills needed to excel at the game of hockey.
Seeing the need for players to have the chance to work on these skills the WHCL has teamed up with Hockey Canada to put together an 8-week Adult Skills Program. This program will be geared towards players that would like to improve their skills with the aid of certified Hockey Canada instructors.
Over the 8 weeks players will be put through on-ice drills that concentrate on all aspects of Skating, Puck Possession, Shooting, and will include a minor component geared towards offensive and defensive concepts. These skills are essential to getting the most out of yourself as a player, and helping your team to succeed.
Players will participate in drills at their own pace and not feel the pressure to play at anyone else’s level, giving them the true opportunity to practice each skill. All drills will be progression based to ensure players of all abilities are able to take away what they need from the program. After all we can all use a little direction in our game at any level.

All sessions will take place at WinSport Canada’s Markin Mcphail centre, from 7:15 – 8:30 PM. Be prepared to take to the ice at 7:15 as Hockey Canada’s instructors will lead a group warm-up to ensure everyone is able to utilize the entire 75 minute ice slot.

Skaters: $229 (SOLD OUT)
Goalies: $99 (SOLD OUT)
Registration for this program in currently underway and will be limited to 32 skaters and 4 goalies so sign up early to guarantee your spot. Goalies will receive instruction, and will be utilized for shooting drills.
