Hello everyone, Here is the latest registration update from the WHCL. With registration for the returning winter 2012/13 season teams taking place from June 3rd to 14th we seen 76 of 80 teams return. Hello everyone,
Here is the latest registration update from the WHCL.
With registration for the returning winter 2012/13 season teams taking place from June 3rd to 14th we seen 76 of 80 teams return. There were 4 teams that will not be joining us in 2013/14, and I would like to wish the Grizzlies, District 5, GRAF Oilers, and CANA Worms success in their pursuit of hockey going forward.
With those 4 teams leaving, and the WHCL adding an additional 10 teams we were able to welcome 14 new teams into the league for next season. As the Grizzlies have left the STRONGBOW division there was room for 1 team in the over 40 division and 13 across the rest of the league.
With 19 teams coming to Winsport in person to register, and the Cougar Hunters showing up as early as 5:45 AM its no surprise that we were able to fill the 13 spots in 3 hours, with the last team getting into the league being here at 8:52 AM. We are currently carrying 6 teams on our wait list in the event that a team is unable to make the financial commitments of the league.
This leaves just 1 remaining spot in the league. We are still looking for 1 team to replace the Grizzlies in the Strongbow division. This would require your team to be made up of players no younger than 40 years of age. If your team is currently registered in any of the other 9 WHCL divisions and you are interested in making the change to the Strongbow division please contact Shane.Meahan@winsportcanada.ca ASAP to make the change. If you are a new team looking into joing the WHCL as a Strongbow division team let Shane know as well and we can get the paperwork started.
