Congratulations to all the Division Champions.

After 3 solid weeks of Playoff Hockey at the WinSport arena complex we can now say Summer Hockey in the WHCL is complete. 

Division 1

With an undefeated record going into the Final the top seeded Lions fell 7 – 2 to The Heroes.  The Heroes will take their Division 1 championship into the newly renamed Molson Canadian division this winter season.

Division 2

Division 2 saw the 2^nd seed Spartans put a 2-1 win over Team 13, in the teams’ second division 2 final appearance to be decided by just 1 goal. 

Division 3

The Kings and Horsemen battled back and forth all game and even though the Horsemen scored late in the 3^rd to come within a goal the Kings were able to shut the door and hang on for the win.

Division 4

The Puckheadz were able to hold on to a 3 – 0 victory over the Statutory Apes, with Mike Dumenko getting the only shut-out of the championship games. 

Division 5

With a 5-1 win over the Dragons the Jets were able to seal the victory in their first ever WHCL season.

Division 6

With a 6 point night Ryan Sadler was able to lead his Blue Devils to an 8 – 2 victory over HK Croatia.  

Division 7

After having to reschedule the game due to a pretty serious cut to the neck of the SMARTians goaltender, the SMARTians were able to regroup and take a 5 – 2 victory. 

It was a very successful season which saw players in the league ranging from CHL players, NCAA players, as well as a few players that just picked up hockey in the last couple of seasons.  We saw the first of many WHCL All-star games, the first ever player of the season award winner, and our first sponsor signing on board.
