Game 1 is in the books

Le Top Fromage win the first ever WinSport Hockey Canada League game.
It took three 14 minute periods, and all 5 shooters in the shootout, but Le Top Fromage earned the first ever WHCL win on Monday night.
Down 3 - 2 with under a minute to play Silver Bullets Defenceman Wayne Gotto started behind his own net, and was able to go end-to-end and bury a backhand by Le Top Fromage goalie Riley Brown. Tying the game with 33 seconds left lead to the first ever shootout in the WHCL, and neither goalie was going to give an inch. After each goalie had turned aside the first 4 shooters, Le Top Fromage forward Brady Mah was able to beat Leslie Reddon and secure the win the Home team.
It was a great way to start off the season, both teams brought their A game and battled hard in the league opener. Lets hope the rest of the games this season are that close.
