March 22nd update
Hello WHCL Team Representatives, Players and Officials,
On Friday, March 13th, WinSport made a voluntary decision to temporarily suspend the 2019-20 Winter Season as the health, safety and well-being of WinSport Team Members, guests, WHCL players and the community remain the top priorities for WinSport. On March 16th at noon, all of WinSport’s operations were suspended until further notice due to the ongoing developments resulting from COVID-19.
As of March 22nd, 2020, we can provide our participants the following updates:
Resumption of Winter ‘19/20 Games: WinSport will continue to monitor this rapidly changing situation as we evaluate dates to resume operations, once it is deemed safe to do so. At that point, every effort will be made to resume the WHCL 2019-20 Winter Season with all postponed games being considered for re-scheduling.
Winter ‘19/20 Playoffs: The WHCL is currently evaluating the existing playoff format and identifying alternative options for consideration. Once a resumption date has been set, we will select a playoff format based on the information at that time and communicate accordingly.
Summer 2020 Season: When the remaining games for the 2019-20 Winter Season have been rescheduled, the WHCL will release new details for the upcoming 2020 Summer Season with game schedule to follow. It is our intention to keep the start date of May 4, 2020 at this time.
Please note: in response to the current situation, the 2020 Summer team fees deadline has been extended to April 24th, 2020.
Reduction of League Fees: At this time the 2019-20 Winter Season and the 2020 Summer Season have not been cancelled. Our intention is to move forwards with both once it is deemed safe to do so and at this time, we do not have enough information to determine if credits or refunds will be awarded.
We would like to thank all our WHCL players and officials for their continued patience during this challenging time and will continue to update everyone as things evolve.
