2016-07-14The 2016-17 registration is complete
The WHCL will once again run at capacity. There have been some changes to the teams in each division, but all 12 divisions will have 8 teams each once again. Overall 22 teams changed division for the 2016-17 season, and we said goodbye to 6 teams.
This season we welcome 6 new teams to the winter at WinSport.
The Pirates – Molson Canadian division – based on their performance so far this summer, the Pirates are going to compete for top spot in the division.
The Urchins – Coors Light division – In their first summer season with the WHCL the Urchins have fit right in with the top teams in the second division.
Entourage – Coors Light division – After 5 summer seasons there was finally a spot to bring Entourage into the WHCL, and their history shows they are the fit the league is looking for.
306ers – Miller Genuine Draft division – 3 summer seasons later, these Saskatchewan hockey players will be spending the entire year playing in the WHCL for the first time.
Wingmen – Granville Island division – The Wingmen have also tried for 3 seasons to get into the league, and won a championship in 2014. They will now compete for winter title to add to their trophy shelf.
The Walking Red – Strongbow division – The team will undergo a few changes to qualify as over 40, but are looking forward to the new challenge of the WHCL.
