WHCL Week 2 update
2015-05-19Week 2 Highlights
That's one more successful week in the books for the WHCL. This week we saw a few more games and some teams stepping into their third game of the season. Here are some things that stand out after a total of 85 games being played this summer.
We have 3 teams still at 0 penalty minutes. Both Hatrick Swayze and the Money Shots show that you don’t have to take penalties to play in the Molson Canadian division. The newest team in the Coors Banquet division, the Moose Knuckles are still yet to face penalty kill time as well.
The Consite Kings have asserted themselves as the top scoring team in the league putting up 29 goals in their 3 games this season to lead the Rickards Red division in goals.
The Calgary Frames were finally scored on this week, but still sit tops in the goals against category with just 1 goal against over their 2 games.
The Heineken division Falcons have taken the top penalty minute spot over in week 2 having killed 36 minute in penalties across their 2 games.
The top players in the league after 2 weeks are:
Points – Jarrett Pratt / Blazer Mechanical / 3 GP – 5 G – 7 A – 12 P
Goals – Kyle Hammersteadt / Hatrick Swayze / 3 GP – 9 G
Assists – Chad Bottolfs / Consite Kings / 3 GP – 9 A
As for the week 2 league in review we had 9 1 goal games and 2 shootouts. Colton Lewis of the Thirsty Penguins put up a shut-out against the Thunder, and the Consite Kings put 13 goals past the Whitesox for most goals in a game this week.
Hope you all had a great long weekend, and we can keep up the great hockey we’ve seen this season.
