There have been some significant changes to how rosters are handled in the Summer 2015 season
In the past teams have been able to bring multiple spare players to WHCL games. Although this has been a nice feature for a couple teams it has caused issues in other areas for the league. The league database had reached an uncanny number (almost 6000 players), where most had only played a game or 2. Numerous teams had to recycle jersey numbers for multiple players, causing some players to not be creddited with the right number of games played.
In going through the rosters of the 2014/15 season we have changed the maximum roster numbers. Rather than having a floating number of players where team reps are responsible to release players we have implimented a hard cap this season. The hard cap for every roster in the league is 28 players. These 28 can be broken up into any number of goalies and skaters but can not exceed 28. If any team exceeds 28 players the team rep will receive a suspension.
Waivers/Registration will now be completed online. This means no player is eligible to play a WHCL game until he/she fills out the online registration form (including team registration code from thr team rep). If a player hasn't filled this out they will not be permitted to play in any WHCL game.
We will be doing a lot more roster checks throughout the season and would like the team reps to be diligent about the roster rules so no one misses games this season.
